1. THE THREE-TIER GUARANTEE STRUCTURE
TIER 1: THE INDUSTRY STANDARD (1 YEAR)
- Target: Refresh projects, rental updates, and cosmetic modifications.
- Workmanship: 1-year coverage on all labor and physical installations.
- Mechanical: Coverage against leaks on new plumbing connections to existing supply/drain lines.
- Requirement: Standard builder-grade materials or homeowner-supplied finishes.
- Target: Family homes, high-traffic kitchens, and primary bathrooms.
- Workmanship: 2-year extended coverage on structural integrity and finish adhesion.
- Enhanced Spec: Includes the use of performance-grade uncoupling membranes for floor tile and performance-grade grout.
- Requirement: Use of Paragon-approved "Performance Grade" materials (e.g., Laticrete or equivalent).
- Target: Full "to-the-studs" luxury remodels and premium design-builds.
- The "Never Again" Promise: Comprehensive 5-year guarantee on waterproofing and structural build.
- Waterproofing: Full shower system warranty (Schluter/Wedi/GoBoard) including full replacement costs if the system fails due to installation.
- Transferability: Fully transferable to a new homeowner within the 5-year term.
- Requirement: Full design-build management by ParagonCA and 100% adherence to the "Architectural Grade" material list.
2. GENERAL CONDITIONS & REQUIREMENTS
For any tier to remain valid, the following "Homeowner Standards" must be observed:
- Maintenance: Homeowner must maintain silicone seals (caulking) in wet areas. Visible failure of maintenance-level caulk that leads to sub-surface damage is not covered.
- Original Configuration: The Guarantee is rendered void immediately if any third-party (handyman, other contractor, or owner) modifies, cuts into, or repairs the warrantied Work Area.
- Structural Stability: Damage resulting from significant house settling (beyond standard engineering tolerances), foundation failure, or seismic activity is excluded.
3. EXCLUSIONS (WHAT IS NOT COVERED)
- Hairline Cracks: Minor grout or drywall cracks (less than 1/16") caused by seasonal humidity shifts or natural house settling.
- Material Finishes: Natural stone "patina," etching, or staining (granite, marble, quartzite) caused by improper cleaning or lack of owner sealing.
- Appliance Failures: Manufacturers' warranties apply to units (faucets, ovens, refrigerators); ParagonCA warrants the installation integrity only.
- Drainage: Blockages caused by foreign objects, grease buildup, hair, or "flushable" wipes after the project handover.
